Iberia launches five new destinations this year, resumed operations with three European cities and opens direct flights to Panama, which until now are making a stopover in Guatemala. 2010 becomes the year of the recent history of the company, which added more destinations to its network.
The additions are first in Amman and Damascus on three and 13 July. Iberia will offer two flights a week between Madrid and Amman and one week between Madrid and Damascus.
Airbus A-319 aircraft will operate both flights with capacity for 141 passengers, which will cover the journey in about five hours. In addition, Iberia offers its clients the possibility of combining both destinations, trip to Amman, back from Zagreb, or vice versa for a better tour, and learns more deeply Syria and Jordan.
On September 16, begin direct flights between Madrid and Oran. This city is close to Algiers, the second destination of Iberia in Algeria. The company has scheduled two weekly flights (Monday and Thursday), which also will be operated by aircraft Airbus A-319.
On October 1, Iberia starts flying to Cordoba, Argentina, and San Salvador, becoming the first European airline to offer direct flights from Europe. In the case of San Salvador, the outbound flight will make a small scale in Guatemala, while the return flight will take place directly between El Salvador and Madrid.
Spanish airline incorporated in October another innovation more in Central America, opening up direct flights between Spain and Panama, to target so far came with a stopover in Guatemala.
As flights to San Salvador, the route is scheduled to be carried out with A-340/300 Airbus. The incorporation of these two Central American destinations, Iberia greatly increases the supply of all destinations in the region.
