Airports in Barcelona and MadridLast month we mentioned that European airports improve punctuality, delays in September “flights en route” to rise again. Within this context, Madrid and Barcelona have become a part between the airports with a greater number of delays in Europe.

According to data from Eurocontrol, the European Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in September over the control centers of Barajas and El Prat return to the list of the 20 with the greatest delays.

This despite the fact that the latter has experienced a delay with respect to the previous month. Specifically, the airport of Barcelona was recorded in August 5998 minutes for September 3478, something that has brought down the second to fifth place among the most delays.

As for Madrid, the delays generated by the control center from August increased, rising from 3093 to 4307 minutes and making it climb two places to stay in fourth place last month.

Ahead of them is Spanish, in the first place, the control center of Athens, reaching 15,630 minutes. This had its origin mainly in the air traffic controllers’ strike in Greece. The second and third in the list is, respectively, the airspace of the German city of Langen and Macedonia.
